we've upgraded our website!
Welcome to our brand new website!
To give you a better experience, we've moved to a new home where you can get all the bus information you need about Newbury & District! If you are familiar with our app, then the website will be a breeze for you, as it has all the same functionality. If you are new to us, or don't use the app, read on to discover how the website can help you navigate our services - and once you get to grips with the website, download the app for ease of info on the go!
Of course, the best way to understand the website is to just have a look around!
timetables
You can now find all your times at the click of a button. Interactive timetables for your service allows you to see the 'main' stops in each direction and also filter by 'all stops' to find the exact one you need. You can also choose the timetable by date to plan your journey correctly.
plan your journey
Use the journey planner to get you from A to B without having to know which service you need in advance - the planner does all the thinking for you! Simply put in your start and end destinations, the date you want to travel and the planner will give you the best options. It will even tell you things like walking time and gives you the name and number of the service and directions to the bus stops!
live bus stop times
On the live times screen, you can select a bus stop (or search for one) to find the live departure times for buses from that stop. There are three actions you can do once you have clicked on a stop:
- departures - this gives you a list of the next few buses with the service number, destination and number of minutes before it gets to the stop. If a time is shown (e.g. 13.15) rather than minutes, the bus is not tracking properly (sometimes due to signal interference) but should still be arriving!
- get me here - takes you to the journey planner where you can put in your location to find the best way to get to the stop - sometimes it might even be by bus!
- track buses - this allows you to see all the buses that are going to that stop moving around live on the map. It will also show the route of the service as well.
track your bus
When you have selected a bus stop, or have one favourited, you can track buses going to that stop. This shows buses moving around on the map (it is refreshed every 20 seconds) so you can better plan your journey. This is handy to use in conjunction with the live times to plan when to leave the house, work or anywhere to get to the stop in time for the bus, rather than waiting at the stop for a long time in advance!
service updates
The service updates page shows you things that may affect your journey in advance such as road closures, stop closures or events. It's also the place where on-the-day incidents can be found such as traffic delays, diversions and weather disruption.
Days out with N&D
Every summer and winter, we organise day trips using our comfortable, modern coaches. Summer trips tend to be to seaside resorts such as Weymouth, but do include other points of interest for families, The winter trips tend to be more around seasonal events such as Christmas markets and lights. This is the place to find all information about our day trips - you can also follow us on Facebook for alerts.
mobile tickets
If you want to buy your tickets in advance, we offer a wide range of mobile tickets. These are bought through the app. You can check out our fares and tickets page for more information.
Things to Do
To help you plan your spare time better, we also have a Things to Do page. This lists attractions, events and places of interest that you can get to by bus!
Favourites
We have a 'favourite' ability which means you can tag a stop or timetable as a favourite meaning you can more easily find information for your most-use service or stop. Favouriting a timetable will bring it to the top of the routes and times page and also have it at the side of the screen on other pages. Favouriting bus stops changes the icon to a star to more easily find them on the live times page.
